Wish you spent more time outdoors? These local parks are a great reason to pack a picnic and head outside.

The warm summer days are a terrific time for packing a picnic and enjoying your next meal outside. Grab a blanket and a picnic basket full of your favorite foods and beverages, and head out to one of Pennsylvania's top spots for enjoying a picnic on a gorgeous summer day. Our real estate agents suggest checking out some of these local picnic spots.

  • Hufnagle Park
Situated at 5th and Market Streets, Hufnagle Park has picnic tables, benches, and a charming gazebo. There's also a walking trail and playground for a bit of post-picnic recreation.
  • Mariah's Garden
Nestled off Walnut Alley, Mariah's Garden is a quiet, tranquil spot for picnicking in Lewisburg. Take a break from browsing Lewisburg homes for sale, pack your picnic basket, and head to this peaceful park. It's an excellent spot for bird-watching and taking in the sites and sounds of nature.
  • Danny Green Field
Head to Danny Green Field, located at St. Mary's and N.7th Streets, for a picnic and an afternoon of competitive fun. There's a basketball court and baseball fields to enjoy, along with a playground.
  • Lewisburg Area Recreation Park
Situated at St. Mary and N.15th Streets, Lewisburg Area Recreation Park is a 22-acre recreation and nature area with numerous areas to picnic, including a nature trail, a pavilion, and a lush, green meadow.

There's also a community pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day), a skateboard park, tennis courts, and Life Trail (a space with exercise stations that are geared towards adults and senior citizens).
  • Milton State Park
Milton State Park is an 82-acre park located on an island in the Susquehanna River. Take in the gorgeous water views while you picnic, hike, boat, and fish. The northern portion of the park has day-use facilities, while the southern portion remains in a natural, wooded state.
  • Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park, located off N. Front Street in Milton, is home to the city's summer music series. Consider setting aside a few hours to enjoy the live music while picnicking at the park's gazebo-style seating.
  • Locust Lake State Park
Though Locust Lake State Park is a popular area for camping, hiking, and fishing, this 1,773-acre park boasts beautiful forests and views of Locust Mountain that provide a lovely backdrop for your picnic.
